The Assembly of Court Presidents and Supervising Judges (Assembly) has an advisory role for the Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC), operating according to Regulation No. 07/2017 on the Organization and Operations of the Assembly, adopted by the KJC on 16 November 2017
The Assembly of Court Presidents and Supervising Judges is composed of: the President of Supreme Court, the President of Court of Appeals, the Presidents of Basic Courts, and one (1) Supervising Judge from each of the Basic Courts, appointed by the Council.
Each year, the Council appoints to the Assembly a different Supervising Judge from the Basic Court regions in alphabetical order of court branches.
The mandate of the Assembly, as an Advisory Body on issues related to court operations, is to provide proposals and recommendations on the following matters:
- court performance in court case resolution;
- drafting and amending laws, regulations and instructions governing courts operations;
- court staff related;
- court infrastructure, budget and procurement;
- security issues and other aspects related to court work and operations.
Meetings of the Assembly are convened by the Chairperson of the Assembly at least two (2) times per year and are open to the public.
