The Assembly of Court Presidents and Supervising Judges (Assembly) has an advisory role for the Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC), which functions under the Regulation No. 07/2017 on Organization and Functioning of the Assembly, adopted by the KJC on 16 November 2017.
The Assembly of Court Presidents and Supervising Judges consists of: the President of Supreme Court, the President of the Court of Appeal, the Presidents of Basic Courts, and one (1) Supervising judge from each of the Basic Courts appointed by the Council.
Each year, the Council appoints a member of the Assembly as a different supervising judge from the region of each Basic court according to the alphabetical order of the branches of each court.
The mandate of the Assembly, as an Advisory Body on issues related to the actions of the courts, is giving proposals and recommendations on the following issues:
• court performance in resolving court cases;
• drafting laws, regulations and guidelines, amending and supplementing them dealing
with the actions of the courts;
• regarding courts’ staff;
• infrastructure, budget and court procurement;
• security issues and other aspects related to the work and activity of the courts.
Meetings of the Assembly are convened by the Chair of the Assembly at least two (2) times a year, which are open to the public.
