Pristina, 10 December 2020 – In the online Award Ceremony organized by the Office of the Language Commissioner (OAG) in cooperation with the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, Mission in Kosovo (OSCE), the Evaluation Committee awarded the Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC) again with the award “Best Practice in the Implementation of the Law on the Use of Languages”, in appreciation of the efforts to strengthen the implementation of language rights in Kosovo. This award is based on the monitoring of the use of official languages on the official website of the KJC and social networks.
The General Director of the KJC Secretariat, Shkelzen Maliqi, after receiving the award, said that the Council has paid special attention to creating equal opportunities for all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo to access the judiciary, regardless of ethnicity.
Mr. Maliqi thanked the Evaluation Commission for this Award for the second (2) year in a row and stressed that this evaluation is dedicated to the staff of the Public Information Office, Translation Office and the Information Technology Office. At the same time, he repeated the commitment of the Council and the Secretariat to continue fulfilling legal obligations and creating the best possible conditions for all.
