Pristina, 31 October 2020 – The Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC), under the leadership of Chair Skender Çoçaj, through the online platform held an extraordinary meeting with the only item on the agenda: Notification of the President of the Basic Court in Prishtina, Aferdita Bytyçi, for filing an indictment against the Basic Court Judge in Prishtina, Lekë Prenaj, for the criminal offense of abuse of official duty and legalization of untrue content.
After reviewing and analyzing the case, the Council decided to suspend Judge Prenaj from office until the completion of the criminal proceedings against him.
The Kosovo Judicial Council is determined and committed to support the bodies responsible for law enforcement in further proceedings, in order to increase efficiency and combat negative phenomena.
