It is facilitated the access to information on the status of cases in the courts

Prishtina, 27 Oct 2020 – The Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC), with the support of the USAID Justice System Strengthening Program, this afternoon will mark another important moment of innovation in justice by launching a new feature on the KJC website, the Case status searching tool.

To date, court users, parties and lawyers have faced difficulties in accessing information on the status of a case. Therefore, through this function, citizens can learn about the status of their case through the case number with an electronic device. Thus, court users, litigants and lawyers can check the status of a court case as well as previous actions undertaken for that case.

The data of this function is created from the Case Information Management System (CMIS) database and the court hearing schedules in all courts will be automatically updated from the CMIS database.

The launch of the case status search tool is one of the many functions of the KJC website developed with USAID support.

Innovations like these increase transparency and access to the judicial system and eliminate barriers to access to case information by Kosovo citizens.
