The Ninth Annual Judicial Conference began

Pristina, 7 December 2019 – The Ninth Judicial Conference of the Republic of Kosovo, supported by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, Mission in Kosovo (OSCE), has already started.

The proceedings of the Conference were opened by the Chair of the Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC), Skender Çoçaj, while the President of the Supreme Court of Kosovo, Enver Peci, the Acting Minister of Justice, Abelard Tahiri, the Chair of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, Bahri Hyseni, Head of Rule of Law from the EU Office in Kosovo, Cezary Michalczuk, Ambassador of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, Jan Braathu, Deputy Chairman of the High Judicial Council of Albania, Maksim Qoku, President of the Supreme Court of Montenegro, Vesna Medenica and Acting of the President of the Supreme Court of Northern Macedonia, Faik Arslani is expected to address the participants with a speech.

The central theme of this year is ‘Achievements and Challenges of the Judiciary in 2019’.

Panel discussions will also be held by:Ombudsperson Hilmi Jashari on the Ombudsperson Institution, Judge of the Basic Court in Prishtina, Fatime Dërmaku on the realization of women’s property rights and Presentation by the President of the Association of Kosovo Judges and Prosecutors, Hidajete Gashi.
